The Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Rider Announcement

Irish Injured Jockeys (IIJ) are thrilled to announce that The Corinthian Challenge Charity Race will return this year. However, instead of multiple races, it will be one race, held at The Curragh Racecourse, The home of The Classics on Juddmonte Irish Oaks Weekend, Sunday 21st July 2024.

This year’s 13 Corinthian Challengers are Jenny Fitzsimons, Diane Scannell, Suzy Quirke, Bridget Speirs, Brian Mulvey, Heather MacKenzie, Ryan Sands, Megan O’Leary, Alannah O’Donoghue, Joanne Quirke, Stephanie Carter, Conor O’Hara, and Niamh Byrne. The sense of camaraderie among riders and the positive feelings riders experience while raising funds are noteworthy aspects. The lively atmosphere and anticipation at the racecourse during the event are truly tangible with all riders supporters creating a unique atmosphere on raceday.

Michael Higgins, the General Manager of Irish Injured Jockeys, commented, “Building upon the past success of the Corinthian Challenge, we aimed to enhance its appeal for participants, spectators, and the media to engage with this year. We extend our gratitude to this year’s challengers for their significant commitment to participating and fundraising for IIJ. The feedback received so far has been incredibly positive, and we’re all looking forward to the big day on 21st July at The Curragh, who have been as always incredibly supportive of us”
