JESSICA O’GARA AND DIANA HOGAN MURPHY WILL COMPLETE IN THIS YEAR’S CORINTHIAN CHALLENGE BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF RIDERS THIS YEAR TO FOURTEEN

Irish Injured Jockeys have today announced two more names to take part in this year’s Corinthian Challenge, Jessica O’Gara and Diana Hogan Murphy.

Originally from Cork, but now living in Paris Jessica O’Gara is a primary school teacher currently on a career break. Jessica is a keen horse rider who has experience in eventing and hunting and is looking forward to the challenge.

Also originally from Cork Diana Hogan Murphy comes from a hunting background. Diana is a pharmacist in University Hospital Galway, has previously competed in the World Ironman Championships and has completed 14 marathons in a single year.

Last year the Corinthian Challenge raised over €120,000 for Irish Injured Jockeys.  The first race will take place on the 16th of July at the Curragh over 1.½ miles on the Irish Derby track. The second leg will be held on the 16th of September at Gowran Park over 1.½ miles and the final race will take place on the 22nd of October over 1.¼ miles at Leopardstown on the Irish Champions Stakes track.
